Providing clients with seasoned wealth management extended knowledge and concierge-level attention, Hurd Jorgensen serves what has become a loyal group of individual and corporate clients in ten states.
With a philosophy that encourages frequent client contact and simple, practical strategies to address complex challenges, the team has earned the privilege to work with entrepreneurs (on their business and personal finances), non-profit organizations, corporate executives, second- and third-generation clients, as well as with women in transition.
Hurd Jorgensen is guided by three principles: establishing a proper legal framework with the right types of accounts and correct titles and beneficiaries, planning for tax implications, and developing a customized, disciplined investment strategy. To accomplish its mission, the team works together with clients and their attorneys and/or tax advisors – aligning all client interests from the outset. Simultaneously, the team works to gain a clear understanding of each client – identifying, prioritizing and quantifying goals, time horizons and tolerance for risk.
Taking full advantage of Merrill Lynch’s world-class research and resources, the team seeks to bring each client a good night’s sleep, only recommending taking on risk that is commensurate with specific goals. For individual clients, Hurd Jorgensen is personal and proactive. Whether or not an account is discretionary, clients are frequently contacted for portfolio re-balancing, tax and debt “check-in,” and to help the team stay updated on beneficiaries and other estate matters. Hurd Jorgensen is vigilant in evaluating and informing clients about the need for insurance (including life and long-term care), 529 college-savings plans, home refinancing and for timely steps in minimizing tax consequences. For widowed and divorced women the team helps prioritize their needs, focusing on Social Security issues, for example, bringing together attorneys and solutions that ease any burden.
