PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
Yancy Lind, CFM, CRPC®
Planning and Perspective
I work with affluent individuals and families to develop and implement comprehensive financial and investment plans, create income streams for a comfortable retirement, structure investments for tax efficiency, and assist with estate planning. I do this for a small group of investors so I have the time to work closely with each to develop personal solutions.
The combination of Bank of America and Merrill Lynch gives me an industry-leading toolbox of financial services and research. I use these tools, but focus on the delivery of independent and thoughtful advice. I communicate frequently with clients and bring an “outside the box” perspective. I put my client’s needs and interests first.
Here’s what makes me different from other financial advisors:
• An exclusive group of clients allowing the delivery of exceptional service to each
• Frequent communication and accountability for my recommendations
• Independent planning and analysis combined with a commitment to constant learning
My goal is to go beyond financial solutions to become an essential partner to my clients.
My Background
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in September 2004, I spent 19 years in the technology industry where I helped start companies and held various executive positions including President & CEO. I was fortunate to have been part of an executive team that took one company public and to see another company purchased by a larger competitor.
These experiences taught me the joys and difficulties of starting and running a business. They also showed me the challenge of managing and preserving money once you have it. Financial planning and investment management are full-time jobs. People with wealth often do not have the time, desire, or expertise to properly manage that wealth on their own.
Community Involvement
I am an active member and Paul Harris Fellow in the Bend chapter of Rotary International, an international service club, where I currently serve as The Rotary Foundation committee chairman. I also sit on the boards of 3 non-profits in Central Oregon:
• Central Oregon Flyfishers is the largest fly fishing club in eastern Oregon and is the parent of Kokanee Karnival, a nationally award-winning youth fisheries education program for 4th and 5th graders in the Bend-La Pine School District. I have served as President, Vice President, Education Chair, and am currently the Outings Chair.
• I helped found and am currently the President of The Deschutes Basin Chapter of the Association of Northwest Steelheaders, a group focused on the reintroduction of steelhead and salmon in the upper Deschutes watershed.
• I serve as Secretary of Edmunds Well Wildlife Sanctuary, an organization which provides a free outdoor experience to disadvantaged kids throughout Oregon.
I received an AB in Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley in 1982 and a MS in Computer Science from California State University, Chico in 1986. I have been married since 1986 and am the father of two sons and a daughter.
