PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
The Malonson / Ramirez Team provides an extensive array of wealth management services to high-net-worth individuals, corporate executives, business owners and trustees on matters pertaining to investment management, retirement planning, life insurance, tax minimization and wealth transfer strategies. Marcus and Vidal actively employ both traditional and non-traditional investment alternatives within their client’s portfolios with the intent to enhance returns and manage down-side risk. The Team also assists small-to-medium size businesses with retirement planning (e.g. 401k, Profit-sharing, SEP) strategies, lending/credit and banking services.
Both members of the team have received their Certified Financial Planner™ certification awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc.
Marcus P. Malonson, CFP®, CIMA®, CRPC®
Marcus has worked in the wealth management area of the financial services industry since 1995. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 2009, he was a Private Client Advisor with U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management and prior to that he was a Global Investment Specialist with the JP Morgan Private Bank.
Marcus has extensive experience in the construction and implementation of tailored wealth management strategies encompassing both traditional and non-traditional investment alternatives, personal trusts, tax minimization and wealth transfer strategies, insurance, credit and banking services for affluent/high-net-worth individuals and families, business owners, corporate executives and retirees.
He attended Southern Methodist University on a full-athletic scholarship and graduated with a BBA in Finance/Real Estate with a Minor in Economics. Marcus received his MBA from the J.B. Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Marcus is also a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™(CRPC®).
Marcus and his wife, Heather, live in Cypress with their three daughters, Morgan, Mallory and Meredith. He is actively involved in the Houston community serving on the Boards of The Lone Star College Foundation, Cy-Fair Educational Foundation, Theatre Under the Stars (“TUTS”), El Centro de Corazon and Career and Recovery Resources. He is a graduate of the American Leadership Forum Class of XXIX and The Center for Houston's Future Spring 2012 Forum. Marcus is a former Chairman of the SMU Alumni Board, member of the SMU Mustang Club, Lifetime member of the SMU Lettermen’s Association and Lifetime member of the Duke University Alumni Association.

Vidal H. Ramirez II, CFP®
Vidal has more than 20 years experience providing financial and wealth management advice and services to both domestic and international clients. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 2007, Vidal was a Director in corporate and investment banking with Barclays Capital in New York.
He received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his Masters in Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. While at Texas A&M, he was a member of the Varsity Basketball Team. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
Vidal resides in Houston with his wife, Barbara, and their two daughters, Isabela and Bianca and is actively involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
