John Schweizer, First Vice President-Investments

John Schweizer started working for Merrill Lynch in 1975. John draws upon his extensive experience working with major financial institutions to help create optimal portfolios for affluent individual clients. He specializes in creating optimal portfolios using a combination of equity and fixed-income securities.

John and his wife Marcy live with their two sons in Niantic. John is active in many community, civic, and charitable organizations.

Declan Mahar, CFM Vice President

Declan Mahar joined Merrill Lynch in 1983 and holds the title Personal Investment Adviser (PIA) Program Portfolio Manager. Through personal consultations, Declan implements a strategy using a wide variety of investment strategies to meet his client’s financial objectives. He also works closely with individuals as well as their accountants and attorneys to develop estate plans aimed at preserving his client’s wealth for their future generations. In addition, Declan is a Certified Special Needs Adviser.

Charles Riether, Financial Advisor

Charles Riether joined Merrill Lynch in July 2011 and began working for the Schweizer-Mahar group in November. Charles recently received his Master’s degree from Wesleyan University. The Schweizer-Mahar Group is extremely excited to have him joining the team.

Charles lives in North Haven with his family, and is very active in the local community.

Deborah Yeomans, Client Associate

Debbie Yeomans joined Merrill Lynch in 2005 after 19 years in the investment advisory services industry working in both Connecticut and Tennessee. She is responsible for account administration and client relations.
