Stephen offers competency based, solution-driven wealth management expertise that is delivered in a clear, cost-effective, client-centered manner. He works with individuals, families and non-profit organizations seeking investment services advice. Expertise includes investment management, retirement and estate planning issues as well as insurance and risk management.
As a Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM, Stephen understands the intricacies of lump-sum distributions, and works diligently to provide personalized strategies that help build dependable retirement income while preserving and growing capital.
The client relationship begins with an information gathering session where we discuss the financial goals and objectives most important to you. The information obtained is then used to design a customized investment strategy tailored to your specific goals and objectives. Periodic reviews with clients on investment portfolios are a requirement after implementation.
Additionally, as a Certified Special Needs Advisor and Merrill Lynch's Families of Children With Disabilities Program, Stephen can help families address their unique financial situation, linking special needs issues to your total financial picture -- thus benefiting not only your child with a disability but your entire household. We use a team-based approach by drawing upon an extensive network of multi-disciplined professionals and advocates to help clients attain financial success.
With his involvement in the special needs community, Stephen seeks to promote understanding of the special needs community and to improve the self reliance of special needs persons, their families and caregivers.
Stephen holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa and an MBA from the University of New Orleans. He began his career with Wachovia Securities and Wells Fargo Advisors in New Orleans, before moving his practice to Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Mandeville, Louisiana.
Away from the office, he is the Director and Treasurer of Friends Helping Kids, a non-profit organization aimed at providing cost-free services and summer camps to adults and children with developmental disabilities. This group also offers area high school volunteers an opportunity to fill their community service requirements. Stephen has been a member for 12 years and has served as Director/Treasurer for the past six years.
