Martha Gibson has been in the financial services industry since 2001 and joined Merrill Lynch in 2010. Martha draws on twenty years of experience analyzing economic dynamics, both in her academic career as a tenured professor of Political Economy at the University of Connecticut and prior to that UCLA, and as a financial advisor for the past twelve years.
Martha's advisory practice is built on solid relationships that allow her to understand each client's goals and priorities. From there, she is able to craft knowledgeable and prudent wealth acquisition and preservation strategies for each client's unique needs. Client service and individual attention are critical in carrying out each client's goals and adjusting to changes in the economic landscape. Martha specializes in high net worth individuals and family legacy planning, small business retirement plans, and guidance for families with Special Needs.
Martha holds a B.A. in Economics, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Economy. She holds Series 7 and 66 licenses, the CRPC (Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor) and the CSNA (Certified Special Needs Advisor) designations. The certified Special Needs Advisor (CSNA) is an internal Merrill Lynch self-study curriculum based on a variety of wealth management topics and a course exam.
She is an avid outdoors person and enjoys golf, tennis, skiing and running. Martha lives in Stonington, CT with her husband and children.
