Marcus P. Malonson, CFP®, CIMA®, CRPC®
Marcus has worked in the wealth management area of the financial services industry since 1995. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 2009, he was a Private Client Advisor with U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management and prior to that he was a Global Investment Specialist with the JP Morgan Private Bank.
Marcus has extensive experience in the construction and implementation of tailored wealth management solutions encompassing both traditional and non-traditional investment alternatives, personal trusts, tax minimization and wealth transfer strategies, insurance, credit and banking services for affluent/high-net-worth individuals and families, business owners, corporate executives and retirees.
He attended Southern Methodist University on a full-athletic scholarship and graduated with a BBA in Finance/Real Estate with a Minor in Economics. Marcus received his MBA from the J.B. Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) certificant, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., a Certified Investment Management Analyst™ (CIMA®), a designation awarded by the Investment Management Consultants Association and a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™(CRPC®).
Marcus and his wife, Heather, live in Cypress with their three daughters, Morgan, Mallory and Meredith. He is actively involved in the Houston community serving on the Boards of The Lone Star College Foundation, Cy-Fair Educational Foundation, Theatre Under the Stars (“TUTS”), El Centro de Corazon and Career and Recovery Resources. He is a graduate of the American Leadership Forum Class of XXIX and The Center for Houston's Future Spring 2012 Forum. Marcus is a former Chairman of the SMU Alumni Board, member of the SMU Mustang Club, Lifetime member of the SMU Lettermen’s Association and Lifetime member of the Duke University Alumni Association.
