PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
The most important aspect in partnering with a client is to first gain a complete understanding of their unique situation. It is critical to both define and prioritize short term and long term goals so together we can develop personalized investment strategies to give the greatest chance of achieving your financial goals and dreams.
As a Merrill Lynch Financial Advisor, I develop sophisticated strategies for investors who demand disciplined solutions to the management of their personal or business finances. Using a wealth management approach, I identify financial goals and quantify expectations. This process leads to a customized wealth management solution that is tailored to each phase of the investor's life -- from initial business success, through active career achievement, professional growth, and during the arc of retirement. Together with a client's tax and legal advisors, I help prepare for the minimization of estate, income and capital gain taxes.
I work side by side with clients to create and implement a custom tailored plan of wealth accumulation, management, and preservation. I provide clients with the intimacy and personal touch of a small, specialized financial advisory boutique, along with the vast array of products, services, and solutions of a world class investment bank.
I start with a top down strategy first. Upon determining each client’s goals and by gaining a complete understanding of that client, I create a plan to address your retirement, estate planning, college saving, charitable contribution, investment, liability management, and tax minimization goals. I will examine and analyze your cash flow and your ability to save, time horizon, all of your liquid and non-liquid assets, and any future events that may have an effect on your plan. I will determine a targeted, inflation-adjusted rate of return for your portfolio within your risk profile.
The second stage of my process is a bottom up investment plan. I take an absolute return approach in managing your assets and will invest accordingly across global stocks, bonds, cash, and alternative investments. I always seek the best risk-adjusted return for each client. Merrill Lynch has one of the largest, open architecture investment platforms in the industry; how I utilize the platform is based on each clients’ goals.
In addition to investments, my specialist teams and I help clients focus on retirement planning, IRA/401K, estate & legacy planning, life insurance & annuity, long term care, 529/education planning, home mortgage, home equity, commercial lending, liability issues, philanthropy, socially responsible/green investing and more.
For executives and business owners, I assist with planning and implementing customized solutions. With the resources of Merrill Lynch and Bank of America, I facilitate cash management solutions, expansion, commercial loans, credit facilities, capital equipment needs/financing, a liquidity event involving the partial or full sale of your business, a corporate merger, IPO, acquisition, or recapitalization, Rule 144 stock sales, customized retirement plan design and implementation, as well as other traditional Investment Banking needs.
In June of 2010 I earned the CRPC® (Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor) designation. As people approach retirement their needs and goals often change. Discussing topics such as when to retire, retirement income and cash flow considerations, estate planning, income taxes, Social Security benefits, inflation, and long term care can all have an impact on the current investment strategy. There are numerous ways to address these concerns and to create an appropriate strategy for your own personal retirement.
In July of 2009 I earned the CSNA (Certified Special Needs Advisor) designation. Families of children with disabilities have a special set of challenges and concerns that can be properly addressed with the right planning. Addressing your complex financial needs successfully will require a strategy that goes beyond investment advice to integrate estate planning, insurance, and trust considerations. This comprehensive view links special needs issues to your broader financial picture, benefiting both your child with a disability and your entire household. Whether it is the establishment of a Special Needs Trust to help protect government benefits or referral to a disability advocate, I am committed to helping families find strategies that are designed to preserve their children’s lifelong financial security.
My vision is to help clients protect and simplify their financial lives so they can spend their time enjoying the non-financial aspects of their lives. By creating specific and successful strategies for each individual client, family, and business, it is my goal to build a solid, long-term relationship based on the shared principles of integrity, trust, ongoing contact and communication, and exceptional service.
Working with my specialist teams in conjunction with your personal tax and legal advisors, it is possible to achieve a highly effective multi-generational solution.
