PROFESSIONAL PROFILE

David Rietdijk is a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch in the Pasadena office. As a Financial Advisor, David’s first priority is to understand his clients’ background and help them in defining and prioritizing their most important financial goals. David then implements a strategic long term asset allocation that matches the clients’ risk tolerance, liquidity concerns, and time horizon. By periodically rebalancing the portfolio for clients, David also ensures that risk parameters stay within the defined ranges. He also provides risk management solutions pertaining to concentrated stock positions and company stock options.

David is supported by trust and insurance specialists in advising retirees, business owners, and high net worth clients on the accumulation, preservation, and transfer of wealth through estate planning strategies. He also routinely collaborates with estate attorneys and accountants to address each client’s unique estate and tax situation. Client Associate, Lydia Aquino, helps David in administrating client accounts and maintaining superior client service.

Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 2010, David worked in the financial industry since 1999 and had the opportunity to observe how institutional money was invested by such firms as J.P. Morgan, Western Asset, and Putnam Investments.

David graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Science degree in finance and marketing from Northeastern University. He is a member of the CFA Society of Los Angeles and the CFA Institute. Additionally, he earned the right to use the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, CRPC®, designation. David is actively involved in the Dutch community and serves on the Executive Committee of the Netherlands American Foundation.

Fluent in Dutch and born in Holland, David came to the United States at the age of twelve with his family and now resides in Pasadena, CA with his wife Svetlana. He enjoys playing tennis, mountain biking, and running.
