David Lum, CFP® CRPC®, has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in the financial services industry. He is a Senior Vice President - Wealth Management Advisor for Merrill Lynch. David has accomplished the prestigious Certified Financial Planner™ certification awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. and he is further credentialed with the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor® designation. In addition, he is currently a member of Merrill Lynch's Circle Of Excellence, one of the firm's top recognition levels for their financial advisors. Most recently, David received local recognition by being named “2011 Financial Advisor of the Year” within the seven Palm Beach Complex offices.

David graduated from St. John's University in New York with a degree in finance in 1981. He immediately began working on Wall Street in the financial services industry and today, his clientele consist mainly of affluent retirees and successful professionals. With a holistic approach, he develops professionally managed portfolios with risk levels clearly defined after careful review and research into the financial needs of his client.

David is also a leading advocate of estate planning. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with his client's legal and accounting professionals to assist in the development of efficient estate succession strategies designed to minimize the impact of estate taxes and to facilitate control.

Originally from New York, David has been a Florida resident since 1987 and lives in Palm City, Florida with his wife and two children. He is active in the community having been on the boards of the local chapters of Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Salvation Army and most recently , having served the Martin County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
