Charlie has been in the Financial Services industry since graduating from Wake Forest University in 1998. He spent two and a half years with the Capital Management Group at First Union National Bank in Charlotte before joining Merrill Lynch in 2000.
Charlie earned the Certified Investment Management AnalystSM designation taught by the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. The CIMA® focuses on the quality of consulting and the effectiveness of consultants in the managed money arena as it pertains to high net-worth investors, family foundations and qualified plans. He has also dedicated his practice to the transitions and decisions that accompany retirement by earning the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM designation.
Charlie's main goal as an advisor is to help clients identify and prioritize goals and provide a smart, organized investment plan to protect, grow and ultimately distribute their wealth. Charlie lives in his hometown of Lincolnton, NC with his wife Whitney, son Reed and daughter Lander. Charlie is active in First United Methodist Church, serving on the finance committee and board of trustees. He is a committee member of Brett's Ride for Rhabdo, a non-profit in Hickory, NC that has raised over $1 million for pediatric cancer research, benefitting Levine and Brenner Children's Hospitals. He enjoys playing tennis, golf, cycling and spending time at the beach.
