Ann MacNaughton joined Merrill Lynch in 2004 to provide customized wealth preservation, income, and portfolio growth solutions for business owners and corner office executives, retirees and pre-retirees, and women of independent means who want to focus their own time on business or philanthropic pursuits, adventure travel, or family matters - doing whatever matters most to them.
More than 25 years of prior business law and management consulting experience sharpened Ann's talent for clarifying goals, identifying resources, and creating solutions suitable to specific situations. At Merrill Lynch, she gives attention to core goals and values, risk tolerances and time frames, and both sides of the balance sheet to address complexities arising from:
• business ownership - including cash management, debt leverage, retirement plans, monetization;
• income risk management - including portfolio and cash flow management, insurance solutions, and challenges for women who must focus on unique concerns when planning for lifetime income;
• estate planning - including trust and insurance solutions, financial education of heirs, and wealth transfer challenges for domestic partners.
A member of the Financial Planning Association and Social Investment Forum, Ann graduated from St. John's School in Houston, earned MBA and JD degrees from the University of Houston, and trained with Roger Fisher at Harvard Law School. Before joining Merrill Lynch, she worked in large multinational business organizations such as Vinson & Elkins, Mobil Oil, and Arthur Andersen, as well as entrepreneurial firms including her own company.
Ann not provide legal services at Merrill Lynch, but does continue to serve in professional and community leadership roles including bar leadership positions. She lives in Houston's Boulevard Oaks neighborhood, with her husband, architect and UH professor Geoffrey Brune, and their cocker spaniel Jake.
